My story

I began learning astrology in college, drawn by an analytic mind to systems that provided language for the seemingly intangible. I deeply researched my sign, and what I found felt affirming, but also incomplete.

Around 2013, I encountered articles by astrologer Chani Nicholas and found far more to astrology than having a sign. By studying my chart holistically, I began uncovering its vastness and intricacies. Ongoing learning about my chart has provided insights into the ways I perceive and engage with the world, my strengths and growth edges, lessons in acceptance, and how to harness my gifts rather than disciplining myself into who I thought I should be. It provided explanation for past experiences and facilitated healing. It's given me a sense of the role I am meant to play in the world around me, and how I can better show up for others. I began helping friends make meaning of their own charts, and after doing this work for about a year, I felt a yearning to expand my astrological work beyond my own circle.

I love how astrology demands empirical rigor and study of rich history and tradition, as well as curiosity and reverence for the numinous. I’m always challenged and in awe of what I learn in weaving together these forms of knowledge that are often seen as at odds with one another.

I was born and raised in the midwest, and have lived in Washington, DC for the last 7 years. I hold an MA in Gender and Women's Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I'm a queer sober woman, and these identities shape the perspectives I bring to my practice. Outside of astrology, you'll find me with my senior rescue pets (Buffy and Dezzy), spin cycling, antique hunting, and knitting
